Compiler warning for Windows 8.1 Store App

Oct 20, 2013 at 11:51 AM
I'm upgrading my store app to Windows 8.1 and the compiler is giving me this warning:

'Windows.ApplicationModel.Resources.ResourceLoader.ResourceLoader(string)' is obsolete: 'ResourceLoader may be altered or unavailable for releases after Windows 8.1. Instead, use GetForCurrentView.'

This is coming from the definition of:

static Resources()

in the C# file generated by your code.

Thanks for informing me about this. I'll see what I can do about it...

I see that the updated version of the code generator fixes this problem.

However, it is worth noting that ResourceLoader.GetForCurrentView raises an exception if it is called on a windowless thread. I've worked around this by making a call for a known resource string after App.cs has set up the frame.
